Feiner’s ‘Rethinking’ Group Reconvenes
A group that wants to reconsider, and possibly eliminate, Westchester County government is meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Rethinking Westchester County government will hold a meeting at Greenburgh Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, also an organizer, said members will discuss how Rob Astorino’s election as county executive will affect the movement.
Feiner also said the goal is to come up with a legislative plan to make it easier to lower taxes in Westchester. Consolidating government services and supporting local petition initiatives will also be discussed, he said.

Hey Paul,
Are you offering free lap dances from your BFF’s club after the discussion?
feiner is an embarassment to the town of greenburgh
he is a tax and spend liberal who has raised the town
taxes by far more than andy spano raised the county taxes
and the town taxes are a far larger portion of the total
property tax bill…the failure of greenburgh democrats
to vote in this election is a wake up call for feiner
he will not be re elected again…he’s done…a republican
won’t be elected but he will lose a primary…feiner has
totally compromised the taxpayers of greenburgh..with
hairbrained schemes like his 30 million dollar library
which is a disaster…and his dealingns with sam zherka
will result in the same electoral consequences that befell
dennis robertson in yonkers and tony castro
JeffRev posted a comment suggesting that I proposed the expansion of the Greenburgh library. His facts are wrong. the library expansion cost $20 million, not 30 million. I was against the 20 million referendum. I had supported an alternative plan (about $10 million). I wanted to sell the old town hall to a developer. The property would have been put on the tax rolls. We would have received a few million + from the developer for the land. In addition, Sunrise Assisted living (the group that had wanted the property) would have helped the town offset some of the construction costs. They had agreed to pay for part of the landscaping of the property. The Library Board wanted the entire property. I was in the minority (that is democracy) and the voters (in a referendum) approved the 20 million expansion. Although I did not vote for the expansion when it was up for a vote (because I thought it was too expensive) I respect the wishes of the voters and think that the new library is a nice addition to our town. The library is used by lots of people and offers residents a good service. The staff at the library does an exceptional job. We are looking for ways to tighten up spending in the town, made some cuts in the 2010 budget and will be reviewing ways to make town government more efficient. If JeffRev wants to share his ideas with me he can e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. Or, he can call me at 993-1545 (office), 478-1219 (home), 438 1343 (cell). I welcome his constructive suggestions and the suggestions of any other resident as to how we can make sure that every resident gets
great value for their tax dollars. PAUL FEINER
