NYFG wants Cuomo to investigate Working Families Party

Posted by: Gerald McKinstry - Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 03, 2009

A group focused on reforming New York State government is again calling on Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to investigate New York’s Working Families Party and its associated not-for-profit and for-profit entities.

New Yorkers for Growth has been calling for an investigation by the Attorney General’s office since August, when an investigative series by City Hall Newspaper began revealing the party’s practices as well as the groups its involved with. Today, members again called on Cuomo to lead an investigation.

“The New York State Attorney General has an obligation to investigate credible allegations of political, campaign finance, and not-for-profit fraud,” said New Yorkers for Growth spokesman Bill O’Reilly. “We understand that the politics of this may be touchy — the Working Families Party backed Mr. Cuomo — but public duty has to supersede political considerations. New Yorkers for Growth is confident that the Attorney General will do the right thing.”

What’s the old saying, “When Hell Freezes Over?”

NYFG are just a bunch of greedy capitalists trying to squelch dissent. The AG should be busy investigating Wall Street billionaires not harassing working-class people.
