Lazio’s Endorsements Move From Western NY To North Country

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 18, 2009

After picking up the endorsement of Monroe County GOP chairman Bill Reilich earlier this week, Rick Lazio has received the endorsement today of Essex County Republican Chairman Ron Jackson.

The endorsement brings Lazio to more than 20 percent of the weighted vote needed to win the Republican nomination for governor. It’s the sixth chairman to back Lazio, joining those in Monroe, Orange, Suffolk, Schoharie and Niagara.

Essex County Republican Chairman Ron Jackson said, “Rick Lazio is the best choice for Governor. He will do the most to improve the quality of life for the residents of Essex County and of New York State. Rick’s blend of public and private sector experience is exactly what our state needs.”

Reilich said earlier today that he expects Lazio to continue to build up endorsements, similar to how Ed Cox earlier this year kept picking up support county-by-county to win the nomination for state GOP chairman.

Wow… Looks like the New York Republican Chairman Tom Basile is doing a helava job keeping Erie County Executive Collins out of the race for Governor. At $150k and a part -time employee, he’s worth every penny…
