Paterson: Giuliani “Would Have Pulled All The Rest Of His Hair Out” As Governor

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 22, 2009

Gov. David Paterson said he was a “little surprised” that Rudy Giuliani isn’t running for Senate, saying he didn’t expect Giuliani to run for governor.

“If he had gotten elected governor, I predict he would have pulled all the rest of his hair out by March,” Paterson said this afternoon on WOR-AM (710).

Paterson explained that as mayor, Giuliani had much more power than he would as governor. But Paterson said he thought Giuliani might take a shot at the Senate seat held by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who Paterson selected for the seat in January.

“I’m a little surprised because I thought he was looking for a base to run again,” Paterson said, seemingly suggesting that a Senate seat could help Giuliani if he wants to run for president again.

“When you have been in public office for a period of time and you get a few years out, it’s hard to get back in,” Paterson continued.
