Harold Ford Jr. Won’t Be “Bullied Or Intimidated”
Former Tennessee Rep. Harold Ford Jr. today isn’t backing down from attempts by Democratic leaders, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Charles Schumer, to dissuade him from running for the U.S. Senate against Democratic Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand.
““Harold is not going to be bullied or intimidated. It’s good for New York to have a dialogue,” spokesman Davidson Goldin said today.
“It’s good to have credible candidates exploring this race. So what are they so afraid of? Let’s be clear, New York needs a senator who will fight for jobs, fight to improve our economy, fight for small business and have the independence to stand up and do what’s right for our state—regardless of what the party bosses in Albany or Washington want.”
The statement comes after reports that the leading Democrats in Washington have reached out to Ford to discourage him from challenging Gillibrand in a Democratic primary. They’ve been successful with other leading New York Democrats, including Reps. Steve Israel and Carolyn Maloney.
But they might not be having the same luck with Ford, who is expected to continue to explore a Senate run and meet with Democratic leaders from across the state.
And he’s coming to Albany next month as the keynote speaker at the state Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators’ annual conference.

Ford Junior is NOT a “credible candidate.”
Everybody should look at the video NARAL has posted, in which this pyoik actually advocates for a federal law forbidding abortion. With the world’s most self-righteous look on his face he says “We’re going to teach people the difference between right and wrong.” Yecccch!!! See Ford’s video at:

It would be great to have a Senator like that, instead of people who sell out New Yorkers out of party loyalty.
Yeah, listen, who wants a Senator who’s a New Yorker anyway? Bobby Kennedy – Jim Buckley – Hillary Clinton. Bring ‘em from anywhere else, we’re interested. Sen. Schwarenegger? How ‘bout Sen. Palin?
Why limit ourselves – Sen. Tony Blair…Sen. Mikhail Gorbachev. they’ve all visited New York, er, Manhattan, too.
And like Caroline Kennedy, if you think about running you can travel to Rochester and visit it for the first time. Or was that West-chester?
