U.S. Senators On Paterson

Posted by: Joseph Spector - Posted in Uncategorized on Feb 25, 2010

U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand offered brief statements this evening on the investigation into whether State Police and Gov. David Paterson were involved in trying to influence a domestic-violence case involving a Paterson aide.

Schumer’s statement: “These are very serious allegations that demand a prompt, aggressive and thorough investigation.”

The statement from Matt Canter, a spokeswoman for Gillibrand, who Paterson appointed to the seat in January 2009:

“Senator Gillibrand strongly believes there is no place in our society for domestic violence or abuse of power. These allegations are very troubling, and she expects all parties to fully cooperate with the investigation that is underway. She will have more to say when more facts are revealed.”

Time for the Guv to call in Jesse Jackson for a newsworthy knees on the rug photo op. Or has Reverend Al taken over that ecclesiastical performance?
