Cavere, Raising and Running
Republican Kristia Cavere, a former Pentagon analyst, has raised about $200,000 for a run against Rep. John Hall, D-Dover, Dutchess County, and plans to officially enter the race later this month, a Republican campaign source said.
Cavere, who lives in Tuxedo, Orange County, has formed an exploratory committee to run against Hall, but will turn that over to a full committee soon, the source said.
She is meeting tonight with Putnam County Republicans to discuss her candidacy.
With Assemblyman Greg Ball out of the race and running for state Senate, Republicans have been talking to several GOP candidates about running against the two-term Democratic incumbent.
Nan Hayworth, an ophthalmologist from Westchester County, is already up and running with her campaign and gaining endorsements.
Other potential candidates include former Tuxedo Mayor David McFadden and Putnam County Neil DiCarlo.

Nan Hayworth is the class in this field of horses, and should win the primary and then go on to beat Hall in November.
The Primary will be a good maiden race for her and fine tool her skills

VJ I doubt that. Many people are starting to realize Nan in a Rino, she has her own interests over the parties. By the way this article is misinforming. McFadden is not a “potential” candidate he entered months ago and is one of the front-runners, and not to mention the only one with political experience.
Mike Everyone who runs has an “EGO” or own interests, I have meet her and as far as I can tell she is the class of this field.
She and the others will be tested in a maiden race before the big one in November.
For now my money is on Nan and your money is on another and thats what makes for a good maiden race, after all our money should be on the winner so we can send Hall packing in November and joining “King” Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Schumer, “Queen” Et Tu Gillibrand on the unemployment line.

Maiden race? Let’s hope these candidates do not turn out to be maiden claimers and rather qualify for MSW.
Earlier version of Cavere’s resume that was posted on her blog said “During the spring 2009 semester, she had an internship at the Pentagon in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.” That is a far cry from what she seems to be implying, that she was a real deal employee. She was one of thousands of federal interns. So what? Why do people fictionalize their own lives? Right out of the box, she is deceiving. Sorry, but we don’t need more bullshooters. Republican party does not need her either.
Nan Hayworth is a movement to dethrone the county chairs in Westchester, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, and Putnam.
This is not about some liberal RINO who wants to be in congress, this is about someone who is actively campaigning on taking out Reda, Colety, Deprospo, Scannepico, and Webster.
Rumors are that Hayworth has hit the million-dollar mark in her fund-raising which, if true, is astonishing considering that she entered this race just a couple of months ago.
But we should have seen this coming. After just two months, she was able to raise as much money (and more) as then candidate Greg Ball, who was the presumed GOP front-runner. Ball dropped out less a month after Hayworth’s stellar fund-raising announcement.
If someone like Greg Ball didn’t think he could take on Hayworth, her campaign operation and fund-raising machine despite him having been in the race for over a year, what makes these other candidates think they stand a shot?
Hayworth will be the GOP candidate. She’ll have over $2 million in the bank by the summer and she will defeat John Hall in November.
Billy DeProspo is going to have to get over it.
Nan Hayworth is running for Congress not party boss. I am not a fan of mixing the two.
As far as removing County Chairpersons that is up to the County Committee members in each county at a county convention.

Nan isn’t interested in “replacing” anyone except John Hall. In fact, if you read her stuff, she’s quite friendly and respectful to our beloved Sue Kelly, whom she enlisted as an advisor a long-time ago.
.
I support Ms/Dr./Nan Hayworth because she synthesizes and respects the old-line hard-working values of fiscal conservatism and a pragmatic/electable social conscience (remember we are in the NorthEast—not the Bible Belt) with the energy and enthusiasm of the Tea Party.
.
She’s getting endorsements from both groups and Hall’s folks are amp’ing up the scare/concerns. That’s a good sign. She and her husband have some wealth and have certainly “seeded” the war-chest, but lots of money is coming from people like me and . . . you.
.
You have to come to one of her events and hear her talk—she’s so the real deal and we’ll be lucky to have her in Congress.
I agree with “interncrazy”... the Republican Party needs less rhetoric and more thoughtful ideas. Having another “kook” come out and make outlandish assertions about the republican party winning WWII and bringing about women’s suffrage marks of the kind of idiotic diatribes we have become accustomed hearing from Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin. Can you imagine her getting skewered by Katie Courec? What we need is a good fiscal conservative like Mitt Romney (without the MA baggage). Someone less likely to look like a moron and more likely to actually be a leader.
