Wilson presses DiNapoli for debate
Carl Paladino isn’t the only Republican candidate in New York anxious to debate his opponent.
Former hedge-fund manager and Scarsdale, Westchester County, resident Harry Wilson today pressed Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli to agree to a debate before the November election.
Wilson’s campaign manager Chapin Fay sent a letter to the Democratic incumbent challenging him to a debate.
“Despite repeated calls and opportunities for a debate, Albany Tom has used a litany of excuses to skirt the important issues facing New York taxpayers,” Fay said. “It’s understandable why he would want to hide from his record, but the people of New York deserve better. We stand ready to debate Mr. DiNapoli and urge him to promptly reply to our request.”
Paladino, a Buffalo businessman, has called for debates with his GOP primary opponent, former Rep. Rick Lazio of Long Island. So far, those forums have yet to materialize.
Here’s the letter from Fay:

Good Luck with that! DiNapoli might as well have a post-it note on his back saying Kick Me out of office.
When voters say the incumbents got to go they’re talking about people like Tom DiNapoli. 23 years on the public dole, never met a tax or a spending scheme he didn’t like. Today we wake up to find DiNapoli is a fiscal conservative? I don’t think so.
Good luck getting him to debate, Mr. Fay. Why don’t you try a singing telegram?
