Oppenheimer campaign responds: Senator backs business
Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer’s campaign is speaking up in response to comments from her Republican challenger, Bob Cohen. The GOP candidate claimed that she’s been “hostile” to the interests of small business in New York.
Democrat Oppenheimer is seeking her 14th term in Albany as representative of the 37th District. Campaign spokesman Tony Kelso provided a statement defending her work for business, big and small.
Senator Suzi Oppenheimer played a key role in killing the most damaging anti-business tax proposed in Westchester this year, the sugar tax. That tax would have hurt local small businesses, especially independent retailers competing against stores across the border in Connecticut. The tax would have also been very damaging to Pepsi and Coca-Cola, two of Westchester’s major employers. Suzi worked hand-in-hand with these businesses and the Senate Democrats to kill this tax despite repeated efforts by the Governor to have it included.In addition, Suzi sponsors an annual small business conference to assist growing businesses. The conference is being held this year on October 19th and will bring together state agencies and other business assistance groups to help small businesses struggling in this difficult economy.

Pretty weak response. So she votes for $4 billion in tax increases, but since she held a conference she says supports business. Puh-lease.

Suzi is a member in good standing of the Democratic Senate “CRAZY” Committee who’s policies are “INSANE” not just for small businesses but for all businesses.
Come November retire Suzi and elect the Republ-I-CAN who “CAN” help small business from Westchester to Buffalo to Watertown to Binghamton to Montauk and all points in between.
