DiNapoli To Update Pension Guide
After the Democrat and Chronicle’s report today on the comptroller’s how-to guide on ways to boost a public employee’s pension, the office said it will update the guide to make it clearer that pension padding is not the guide’s goal.
Dennis Tompkins, spokesman for Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, said the guide posted online may have used a poor choice of words. For example, some of the headings say “Increase Your Final Average Salary” and “Save Your Sick Leave.”
“We’re going to update the language to make it clearer,” Tompkins said.
He explained that “We’re not encouraging the use of overtime to increase pensions. It may have been some unfortunate language, but we have an obligation to inform members of the law and regulations surrounding the calculation of their pension.”
Tompkins said the guide was written in 1998 and will be updated.
He said DiNapoli supported the new Tier V law passed last year that, for new employees, caps the amount of overtime that can be considered for pension benefits at $15,000 per year for public workers and 15 percent of non-overtime wages for police and firefighters.

Tim for Tom diNapoli to pack it in. Another schmuck incumbent who forgets whose money he’s throwing around.
Nice move Tom. Raise my property taxes a little more.
DiNapoli needs to “UPDATE” the voters on what role Hank Morris and his “BUDDIES” played in his selection and election in 2007 by the legislature.
Hank Morris and his “BUDDIES” were making millions and millions of dollars in “placement fees’. they had an “INSIDE” person “DAVID” working for Alan Hevesi.
All could be lost if the wrong person was to replace Alan Hevesi.
The voters need to know the “How and Why” it was DiNapoli.
So DiNapoli needs to “UPDATE THEM” and wells as the “pension guide”

Let’s some day get a comptroller who knows how to comptroll. Only in politics can we have a starting shortstop who blew a forty five billion dollar bonus, (that he wants us to re-fund,) who can’t hit, has no arm or range, plays not with a glove, but rather an oven mitt, wears a clown suit instead of a uniform, and doesn’t know what inning it is.
