Gillibrand: Meet Her Extreme Republican Opponents
In advance of the GOP primary to challenge her in November, Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is out with a web video today that uses clips from the recent debate between them to paint them as “extreme Republicans.”
“In Kentucky, the Republican Senate candidate actually opposes the Civil Rights Act. In Nevada, the Republican Senate candidate actually wants to “phase out” Medicare and Social Security. But we got news for you. The Republicans running for Senate in New York are just as extreme,” her campaign said in announcing the video.
The video shows the Republican candidates—Joseph DioGuardi, Bruce Blakeman and David Malpass—debating whether global warming exists, the teaching of creationism in schools and who has the most tea party support.
