State Democrats: Wilson practices “kooky accounting” (updated)
State Democrats knocked Harry Wilson for a tax plan they claim is downright “kooky.”
In a new web video post on goprealitycheck.com, the state Democratic Committee takes aim at the Republican comptroller candidate’s tax plan they believe contains tax hikes for New Yorkers.
“The Wilson Tax will mean $2500 in higher taxes for every household outside of New York City,” Democrats said. “Meanwhile, Wilson supports loopholes allowing his Wall Street friends to avoid paying their fair share of state taxes, in a season when Wall Street-linked candidates are facing increased skepticism from voters.”
Updated: Wilson’s campaign manager Chapin Fay responded: “This ridiculous video is rooted in desperation and dishonesty. Harry Wilson is running to protect taxpayers from Albany politicians like Tom DiNapoli who have taxed and spent New York State to the brink of fiscal insolvency. Wilson has made it crystal clear that tax increases are unacceptable. We wish Albany Tom had felt the same way at some point in his two decade career, during which he raised taxes more than 200 times. After 24 years of bad votes and fiscal shenanigans in Albany, Mr. DiNapoli’s past his catching up with him. He cannot run from his record.”

Tom DiNapoli raised taxes in the Assembly for twenty years.
