Gibson Releases Second Ad
Republican congressional candidate Chris Gibson launched its second television ad today, titled “Hard Choices,” in the 20th District race, a seat that runs from Dutchess County through the North Country.
The ad knocks Democratic incumbent Rep. Scott Murphy of Glens Falls for voting in favor of the health-care reform act, saying it will add $1 trillion in costs. Gibson is with his wife, Mary Jo, in the ad.
Murphy spokesman Josh Schwerin responded, “In his new attack ad, Chris Gibson is doubling down on his effort to repeal all the progress we’ve made on health care. Scott Murphy is closing the donut hole for seniors, Chris Gibson wants to open it back up. Scott Murphy made it so insurance companies have to cover the 7 year old kid suffering from cancer, Chris Gibson wants to take that away. Scott Murphy made it illegal to set a lifetime or annual cap for care so insurance companies can’t kick you off when you get sick, Chris Gibson wants to put those caps back on. The health care bill moved us in the right direction, Chris Gibson is dead set on bringing us back.”
Here’s the ad. The script is after the jump.
Chris Gibson: I come from a working class family, we didn’t have a lot of money.
Mary Jo Gibson: His mother is a great budgeter.
Chris Gibson: Every day, families are making hard choices. They are in a tight spot right now.
Announcer: Congressman Scott Murphy isn’t helping, voting for trillion dollar government healthcare. Costs rise taxes go up.
Chris Gibson: We need to drive down costs with free market forces. We look at our kids and wonder are they going to end up paying for the excess of our generation. We need to repeal and replace the healthcare bill.

Nice ad coming from a guy who will have free health care for the rest of his life. What about the rest of us?
The candidate claims to be middle class, but does not undertstand that a single-payer health care system would be better for everyone except the richest Americans. The only reason we did not get a better health care bill, was people like this candidate, who apparently don’t understand that their position favors profit-making price-gouging HMOs against the health of ordinary Americans.
Chris Gibson’s new ad… Very Misleading! He says the new health care law is government jun health care. Scott Murphy voted for health care reform but it’s not fully government run like he’s now claiming. That bill CUTS MEDICARE FRAWD and ends preexisting conditions for children. He’s going negative because he’s 17 points behind Murphy in the latest poll.
