Wilson hits back at DiNapoli with ad (updated)

Posted by: Nick Reisman - Posted in Uncategorized on Sep 22, 2010

Republican comptroller candidate Harry Wilson is out with a new television ad today knocking incumbent Democrat Thomas DiNapoli for his time as a state assemblyman.

DiNapoli, the ad claims, voted to raise taxes more than “200 times” while in the state Legislature and claiming he has no regrets for the votes.

”’Albany Tom’ DiNapoli has taxed and borrowed New York families into the deepest and widest hole in state history, but he has no regrets? That is a mind-boggling statement and a slap in the face to New York taxpayers,” said Wilson campaign manager Chapin Fay. “It will take years to fix the damage Albany Tom and others have done to this state. ‘No Regret Albany Tom’ DiNapoli is the poster child for Albany dysfunction.”

Updated: DiNapoli’s campaign responds: “Wall Street Harry Wilson is running at a time when taxpayers are still furious at Wall Street for crashing the economy, and he has a ‘mad as hell’ bigot with questionable ethics at the top of his ticket. Like many desperate politicians, Harry Wilson falls back on lies and distortions. Voters are smart enough to know we can’t trust a ‘say-anything’ corporate raider like Harry in the comptroller’s office,” said spokesman Eric Sumberg.

The ad follows a negative commercial from DiNapoli that sought to tie Wilson to the troubles on Wall Street and work as a hedge-fund manager.

  1. Vote them all out

All I need to hear is 23 years in Albany. Time to go, Tommy Boy. Try working for a living. See if you regret your tax hikes when you can’t raise your own salary.
