Mayors Take Aim At Tax-Cap

As we reported today, the New York Conference of Mayors released a report that raises concerns about a property-tax cap and warns that it would cripple local governments if not paired with a mandate relief.

The group is touring the state to discuss its report “You Can’t Cap What You Can’t Control,” and holding news conferences today in Albany and Binghamton; Wednesday in Canandaigua, Ontario County, Syracuse and Utica; and Thursday in Long Island and Peekskill, Westchester County.

Peter Baynes, the NYCOM executive director, will discussing the report at the Gannett Albany Bureau at 11 a.m. this morning.
