Katz to call for mandate relief at pair of Friday events

Assemblyman Steve Katz, R-Yorktown, and Assemblyman Marc Molinaro, R-Red Hook, will present a list of mandate relief proposals at back-to-back press conferences Friday.

Molinaro is the Assembly Republican Conference’s appointee to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Mandate Relief Redesign Team.

The assemblymen will be joined by local elected officials, many of whose ideas are represented by the list of proposals. They will call on the legislature to enact meaningful mandate relief as a component of this year’s state budget.

The first event is at 10 a.m. in the lobby of the Putnam County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Ave., Carmel.

Putnam County Legislature Chairman Vincent Tamagna, Putnam County Social Services Commissioner Mike Piazza, North Salem Supervisor Warren Lucas, Carmel Supervisor Ken Schmitt, Patterson Supervisor Mike Griffin, and Southeast Supervisor Michael Rights are slated to attend.

The second event will be in Dutchess County at 11 a.m. at Pawling Town Hall, 160 Charles Colman Blvd.
