Roger Sterling (AKA John Slattery) For Gay Marriage

1

Actor John Slattery, who endorsed Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice last year for attorney general, is now apart of the Human Rights Campaign’s effort to legalize gay marriage in New York.

Slattery, who is best known as the boss at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce on AMC’s Mad Men, shot a video for the group, as have other celebrities.

“I’m a New York who supports marriage equality, because every family deserves the same protections,” Slattery says in the brief YouTube video.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said earlier this month that he wants the Legislature take up a gay marriage legalization bill this session. Democrats tried passing the measure in 2009, but it failed in the state Senate.

  1. Thanks, John! And in return, I’d like to call for the return of Roger Sterling!

But Lionsgate and AMC’s continued futzing over the negotiations threaten to push the next Mad Men season to 2012.

Remind them not to screw over the Mad Men viewers:
