Brooklyn Democratic Sen. Carl Kruger was a no-show at the Democratic conference meeting this afternoon, contrary to a rumor that spread through the Capitol that the pol would appear.
Kruger, along with Assemblyman William Boyland, is facing federal felony corruption charges in connection to a bribery ring.
Austin Shafran, a spokesman for the Senate Democrats, said Kruger was expected to take part in today’s session, however. Kruger plans to address reporters after the session, which is scheduled to take place any minute.
The other lawmaker named Krueger (that extra E is very important), Manhattan Sen. Liz Krueger, is officially taking Kruger’s spot as the ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee.
