AG designates ‘cop on the beat’ for Westchester, Rockland and Putnam

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the designation of a public integrity officer to serve in the Attorney General’s Westchester Regional Office.

Wanda Perez-Maldonado will be charged with giving taxpayers a place to go to report complaints of government corruption without fear of local politics influencing the outcome.

“When it comes to combating local public corruption, the people of Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties deserve a dedicated ‘cop on the beat.’ Designating a public integrity officer here will go a long way to root out corruption and address the concerns of local taxpayers,” said Schneiderman. “As Westchester’s public integrity officer, Wanda Perez-Maldonado will give everyday citizens a place to take complaints where they know they can and will be examined without fear or favor.”

Schneiderman is designating public integrity officers in all of the regional offices across the state to police local government corruption. His appointment reflects a renewed commitment of time and energy in the regional office devoted to public integrity matters, and will formally link the regional office to the Attorney General’s central Public Integrity Bureau.

In addition to Westchester, the Attorney General has regional offices outside of New York City in Buffalo, Long Island, Plattsburgh, Poughkeepsie, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Utica and Watertown.

    Dear Attorney General Schneiderman:

I hope this initiative to ”root out” corruption in all government agenices takes hold immediately. The best way to end corruption is to have prison terms and immediate loss of pensions to any person participating in corruption and whose earnings are paid by the Tax Payers!! ”Corruption” should include (not just) financial matters, but abuses of authority by individuals who are not being ”responsible and honest” in carrying out the obligations of their jobs.

The abuse that hard working citizens endure at the hands of local, state and federal agency ”individuals” must end. People’s lives are being ruined all the time by such matters .

One ”locality/city” in particular that has been reported on for years about it’s very ”questionable (ethical & financial) behavior” is Yonkers. If your office starts in Yonkers, I believe you’ll find there’s more to ”root out” than just about any city in the country. I recommend that this initiative also include public sector unions and all the Bureaucrats therein.

Thank you for taking this initial step.

    Mr. Joseph S. Lento

  2. I guess our Democ”RAT”ic AG is hoping to find Republicans who have there hand in the till, since most of the cases have been about Democ”RATS.

I am sure I am reading to much into this but we need to keep an eye on our AG who was a former Democ’RAT”ic State Senator and as the papers have pointed out there are investigations going on regarding Democ”rRAT”ic State Senators.

So lets ALL jeep an eye on our AG
