Virginia Perez, who today holds a 75 vote lead over Legislator Jose Alvarado, is feeling good about a win on the Democratic line.

“I’m feeling very confident where I am right now,” she told Politics on the Hudson today.

“The key here is not to take it for granted,” she continued. “I still have to get out there, knocking on doors.”

With 65 of the 78 districts reporting, Perez has 666 votes to Alvarado’s 591. Read more coverage here.

Though she likely secured the Democrat’s line, Alvarado still has the Working Families and Independence lines, meaning it could be a three-way race.

Carmen Gomez Goldberg has the Republican and Conservative lines.

  1. Jose Alvarado needs to drop out of this race now. Perez will win regardless but shame on the working families party for their backroom endorsement of a man involved in election fraud.

  2. Jose, do the honorable thing for once and step aside so that this seat is not lost to the Republicans.
