Justin Wagner, a lawyer and Democratic district leader in Cortlandt, said today that he is running for state Senate next year and wants to knock off Sen. Greg Ball, R-Patterson.
“For too many years, bitter partisan politics have kept New York State from making vital investments in job growth, infrastructure, and education, all of which deeply impact the middle class,” Wagner said. “I am running because the Hudson Valley needs a state senator who will fight for the middle class and create opportunities for the residents of the Hudson Valley to get back to work and succeed,” Wagner, 30, said in a statement.
In a phone conversation, he pointed to Ball’s vote against same-sex marriage and his effort opposing a health-care exchange in the state as reasons for challenging him.
