The state Health Department released its annual report today on the performance of managed-care plans in New York. Information is available for four insurance types — commercial health-maintenance organizations, commercial preferred-provider organizations, Child Health Plus and Medicaid.
The Quality Assurance Reporting Requirement Report provides statewide statistics as well as data by region — western, central and northeast New York, the Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island.
Areas that the report measures include childhood immunization, managing diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular conditions, caring for children and adolescents with illnesses, and patient satisfaction with access to care and their health plan. It also provides details of counties served by the plans and enrollment figures.
