Westchester County Board targets deceptive gas pricing

The Westchester County Board of Legislators last night  unanimously passed a law that bans deceptive pricing signs at gas stations.

It specifically affects stations that charge different prices for cash and credit card purchases and prohibits stations from misleading the public on those prices, which often differ by as much as 10 cents per gallon.

The bill was sponsored by Legislator Mike Kaplowitz, D-Somers.

Stop with all the self-serving press releases and posturing. Just see to it that the laws are enforced.

  2. This is really a waste of time and effort. What’s next? Bars have to tell you ahead of time if you’ve ordered top shelf booze instead of rock-gut? If you are too dumb to recognize that there is a different price for cash and credit at certain gas stations then you really might want to reconsider your ability to drive and read traffic signs at the same time.
