Lawler has been with the state party since 2009, most recently as political director.
“I am pleased Mike Lawler has agreed to take on this additional responsibility,” Cox said in a statement. “He is a great asset to state committee and has played a major role in our success over the past two years.”
David Previte, a Rome, Oneida County, native, was named COO and general counsel. Jason Weingartner, a Queens native and suffering Jets and Mets fan, according to his biography, will continue as finance director, Cox said.
Former central New York Assemblyman Anthony Casale will continue to serve as the party’s chief of staff and party spokesman, Cox said.
“As we look forward to a vigorous political agenda for 2012, including a Presidential primary, a US Senate race, and newly drawn line for Congressional and legislative districts, this leadership team, along with our tremendous staff in Albany and New York City, ensures that our State Party is fully prepared to meet the challenges ahead,” Cox said.
