Cenedella eyeing run against Gillibrand, makes appearance at GOP dinner

Posted by: Gerald McKinstry - Posted in Uncategorized on Dec 21, 2011

Marc Cenedella, the CEO and founder of TheLadders.com, made an appearance at the Westchester County GOP dinner last night, fueling speculation that he’s eyeing a run against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2012.

It’s his second appearance in Westchester in the last week: He showed up to County Executive Rob Astorino’s $45 a head fundraiser in Tarrytown last week. (Cenedella, left, is pictured with Westchester County Legislator James Maisano).

Cenedella, 41, started his online recruitment company for executive in July of 2003, so his platform in any run would presumably be jobs.

Before TheLadders.com, Cenedella was a vice president at HotJobs.com. Cenedella has an MBA from Harvard and a bachelor’s in political science from Yale.

Scarsdale’s Harry Wilson, who last year ran for state Comptroller, is also said to be considering a run for Senate.

  1. just the facts

the registration in new york is not conducive to a republican challenger…and if the
national repbublicans nominate anyone but romney the election will be over before
it begins..but having said that..gillibrand has schumer’s support and his fundraising
prowess….and considering what the national republicans are doing to undermine the
brand in the bluest of blue states it is doubtful that gillibrand can be beaten

  2. Yeast

That’s exactly what they said about Astorino. Gillibrand is not exactly Daniel Moynihan or Jake Javits. And even if she were, remember Al D’Amato? Don’t tout “registrations” as the end-all. History tells us differently.
