AP: Obama Changes Plans, Headed to UAlbany

President Barack Obama is still planning a trip to the Capital Region on Tuesday, but the venue has changed.

From the Associated Press’ Michael Gormley:

An official with knowledge of the trip says President Barack Obama will visit an Albany nanotechnology center on Tuesday, not a computer chip manufacturer in Saratoga County as originally planned.

The president will tour the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the state University at Albany.

Obama had planned to visit GlobalFoundries, 20 miles north of Albany.

The official, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity because the trip hasn’t yet been announced, didn’t know why the site was changed.

News of Obama’s visit first broke yesterday. It hasn’t yet been officially announced by the White House.

  1. I’LL tell you why it was changed – because there’s no followup to failure in the University system. In his chosen pseudo-science “green” private industries, where tons of taxpayer money has been dumped, there is failure and bankruptcy on the horizon, as has happened before repeatedly.
