President Clinton to deliver Obama nominating speech

What a difference four years makes!
Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to deliver the nominating speech for President Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention.
Four years ago his spouse — Hillary — captured the limelight in the early days of the convention because her campaign had demanded a roll call vote of the delegates.
But then-Sen. Clinton wasn’t a sore loser. She parlayed the attention to repeatedly stress her support for Obama’s candidacy. It started during the first day of the Denver convention with a breakfast address to the New York delegation, followed the next day by a primetime speech and continuing with a meeting with her delegates the third day. It was hard to miss the message.
Husband Bill will carry that Olypmic-style torch this time, making the Democrats’ case for Obama’s re-election on Wednesday night, Sept. 5.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, chairman of the 2012 Democratic Convention, announced the scheduled speech this afternoon.
Vice President Joe Biden will give his acceptance speech Thursday night, Sept. 6 prior to Obama’s acceptance speech at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
