Leaders of the statewide union AFL-CIO announced today its endorsement of Tompkins County Legislator Nate Shinagawa, a Democrat, for Congress.
Shinagawa is running in the newly created 23rd Congressional District, which is in the Southern Tier.
Union President Mario Cilento noted Shinagawa’s “energy and passion” as deciding factors in the endorsement.
”(Union members) are excited and ready to get to work to ensure that the next representative of the 23rd Congressional District represents them, not corporations and the wealthy interests,” Cilento said in a statement. “From investing in our infrastructure to revitalizing manufacturing, Nate’s focus on jobs is just what average Americans are desperately looking for in Washington, D.C.”
Before working six years in the county legislature, Shinagawa served as a legislative aide to Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton, D-Cortland, Tompkins County. He is an administrator for a non-profit hospital system.
“The AFL-CIO represents hard-working people across the Southern Tier, who have seen middle-class values like fairness and opportunity come under attack as Republican leaders in Congress put corporate interests and tax breaks for billionaires ahead of working families,” the Congressional candidate said in a statement. “Together we will fight to build a strong economy that works for everyone, create good jobs that are here to stay, and protect Medicare and Social Security.”
The New York State AFL-CIO represents approximately 64,000 working men and women in the 23rd Congressional District.

Such “Cooperation of Sticking Together Corruption Examples are not Found Even in Chicago’s Criminal Status!”.... No one questions Why are Chineese buying Properties in Manhattan with Cash! I agree there is nothing illegal to buy Property! But, besides selling them the Properties are ” some individuals” willingly “selling our Offices of Public Trust” too?....
The last and most interesting Part of My Comment is that WHY DID SENATOR JOHN McCAIN had to come and Defend FORMER SEXTING CONGREESSMAN’s Wife so eloquently ” when she was called terrorist indirectly!”
And, why did he come forward when People called me and The President of The United States of America Terrorist?... I respect Senator McCain a lot I supported him in his ELECTION CAMPAIGN too!
But! this Stand-up and Vocal Defense for an Aide of Secretary of State is not making sense!
