Buchwald campaign defends environmental record, campaign calls Castelli votes extreme

6

In response to the endorsement of Republican Assemblyman Robert Castelli by the New York League of Conservation Voters, Barry Caro, the campaign manager for his opponent in the 93rd Assembly District, White Plains Councilman David Buchwald, sent out this statement:

David Buchwald has a sterling environmental record as a White Plains City Councilman, and eagerly anticipates working with the League of Conservation Voters and other environmental groups to protect the environment as an Assemblyman. This election is going to be decided on many issues, and in his two years misrepresenting us in Albany, Robert Castelli’s already voted against a woman’s right to choose, against marriage equality, and against sensible gun control. That’s a record only a Conservative Republican could be proud of, and we’re confident that the voters won’t give him another chance to keep adding to his collection of extreme votes.

Why because Bob Castelli is a Republican?

Bob Castelli 2012. It is the right choice for people of 93 AD. A humble American who puts his constituents above all. CASTELLI 2012 FOR REAL CHANGE IN ALBANY

  3. This endorsement is a joke so it’s no surprise that Castelli would get it. The voters in his district are on to his Tea Bag ways, so he should be toast in November.

  4. Do I hear a little girl? on

Castelli dispatched the Majority Leader of the BOL and the Mayor of White Plains, the “best of the best” (not saying much) for the Dems.

The best candidate the Dems could find is a no-name Councilman whose only real job was a two-year internship with Nita Lowey.

It doesn’t even sound like a fair fight. Castelli wins easily.

  5. Bob Castelli is typical New York Republican candidate. He pretends to be moderate. while courting the tea party and voting against equal pay, reproductive rights, marriage equality and keeping guns out of the hnds of batterers. I’m not sure if Castelli takes these petitions because he really believes them, or because he must to get the Republican line.

By sharp contrast David Buchwald is FAR from a “no-name” candidate. Buchwald is a tax attorney, a White Plains City Councilman and chair of the Metro North Commuter Council. He is graduate of both Harvard and Yale. He is a champoin for women’s reproductive rights, equalpay for equal work and marriage equality. He has been endorsed by NRAL and WCLA-Choice matters. Based on his work on reforming government ethichs he has also been endorsed by Mayor Ed Koch.
