New York League of Conservation Voters Endorses Robert J. Castelli For State Assembly

NEW YORK — The New York League of Conservation Voters, which works to make environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State, has announced its endorsement of Robert J. Castelli for the 93rd District in Westchester.

As a member of the State Assembly, Castelli has been a staunch advocate for New York’s environment. Castelli authored the first open space bond initiative and a wetland protection law in northern Westchester County, and joined Assemblywoman Amy Paulin and nine other lawmakers in signing onto an amicus brief filed in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of Brodsky v. U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Castelli has been an active member of the Environmental Conservation Committee and has co-sponsored various bills, including the Solar Industry Development and Jobs Act and the Child Safe Products Act. He also introduced legislation to ensure that wastewater treatment works refuse industrial waste from hydraulic fracturing operations that contain high levels of radium. Castelli has been a strong sponsor of legislation which ensures that high-volume hydraulic fracturing waste waters are treated as hazardous waste under state law, and he has proved that he will continue to fight for the health of New Yorkers.

“We are pleased to endorse Bob Castelli for his continued stewardship and aggressive support of conservation and the environment,” said Marcia Bystryn, President of the New York League of Conservation Voters. “Since taking office in 2010, Bob has demonstrated his commitment to the environment and his constituents by working to make clean water a top priority. It is the League’s pleasure to endorse his candidacy, and recommend him to voters of all parties in the 93rd District as a champion and steward of the environment.”

In response to the endorsement, Castelli said:

“I am thrilled and honored to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters,” Castelli said. “As someone who has made a lifelong commitment to conservation and the environment, it is wonderful to be recognized by those like-minded individuals who have been on the forefront of the protection of our environment. I will continue to serve as a steward of the environment and the public trust, on their behalf, and that of all the citizens I have the honor to represent.”

  1. Do I hear a little girl? on

If David Buchwald is going to cry like this everyone time Bob Castelli gets endorsement, I think we will be hearing a lot more whining in the coming weeks. Buchwald is a joke.

  2. I think Castelli probably shot his load on this one. He’s been so scared of this race for the last 3 years that he’s spent it cowering to the left on environmental issues for just this moment. What else does he have up his sleeve other than the NRA and Tea Party?

  3. Proud American on

Bob Castelli is a real American Hero who serves his country and community with distiction and honor. A real humble man who appreciates everything he has. I believe in the 93 AD Voters who will give Mr. Castelli another term to represent you in Albany.

Please do not let this LIBERAL Demorate BUCHWALD who takes A LOT OF MONEY from ***Special Interest*** we have enough of that already. We do not want another little girl who will sit on Silver Sheldon’s lap and will do what he tells him what to do and how to vote on ISSUES.
