Gov. Andrew Cuomo released a statement saying that SUNY is monitoring the bomb threats at other campuses across the country today, Gannett’s Haley Viccaro reports.
The University of Texas and North Dakota State University were evacuated today after bomb threats were made this morning at the campuses.
Cuomo said there have been no threats in New York, but preparations are being made in case there are any threats at campuses in the state.
“SUNY campuses have been alerted to the threats happening nationally and are following standard procedures to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and our campus communities,” Cuomo said in a statement. “I encourage all students, faculty and New Yorkers to remain vigilant and to contact local law enforcement in case of an emergency.”
North Dakota State University has lifted its evacuation order this afternoon, the Associated Press reported, while Texas may resume classes this afternoon.
