Libous and Cuomo: Best Friends Forever (So Says Libous)

0

Sen. Thomas Libous, R-Binghamton, plasters his face with Gov. Andrew Cuomo throughout a 30-second ad released this week.

Libous is the deputy majority leader in the Republican-led Senate, and he does have a close working relationship with the Democratic governor.

But the ad goes to new heights in linking himself with Cuomo, the popular governor. And the ad comes even as Libous is presumably under investigation by the state’s ethics board for allegedly getting his son a job at a politically connected law firm.

We reported last month about Senate Republicans’ attempt to align themselves with Cuomo as they seek to retain their majority in the Senate in November. Libous heads the Senate Republican Campaign Committee, so maybe the ad is a template for the election season.

“When it comes to getting results, actions speak louder. As a leader in the state Senate, Tom Libous works closely with Governor Cuomo to get results for us. Together they passed two early, on-time budgets with no new taxes. And the largest middle-class tax cut in 58 years. They approved BU’s plan to create hundreds of new jobs. And together they secured millions of dollars in flood relief aid. Because when it comes to getting results, actions speak louder.”
