A new Democratic poll finds challenger Julian Schreibman within two percentage points of freshman Republican Rep. Chris Gibson in the 19th Congressional District covering the upper Hudson Valley and Catskills region.
The Grove Insight Ltd. survey of 400 likely voters conducted Friday through Sunday found Gibson leading Schreibman by 43 percent to 41 percent with 16 percent undecided. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
The Schreibman campaign said the poll confirms that the race is a toss up.
“We have seen a huge swell of grassroots support from all corners of upstate New York,” Schreibman said in a press statement. “People are standing up to help us fight to protect the values of the middle class.”
