Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, is out with an ad today that knocks his Democratic foe Mike Amodeo for opposing the state’s property-tax cap.
Grisanti, seeking a second term, has as a wide lead, according to a Siena College poll yesterday.
The ad takes what is becoming a major theme for Senate Republicans: knocking any Democratic candidate that’s not in support of the property-tax cap. The state’s teacher union is putting big bucks into Democratic candidates as it seeks to repeal the cap, which is widely popular polls have shown and has been hailed by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo for reigning in New York’s high taxes.
Amodeo is opposing the tax cap.
“Governor Cuomo’s property tax cap, it’s already save Erie County taxpayers over $29 million: helping homeowners, healing our economy,” the ad states.”Now Albany special interests are striking back, spending millions to elect politicians like Mike Amodeo, who are opposed to Governor Cuomo’s property-tax cap and want to repeal Cuomo’s pension reforms that will save us millions more.
“Governor Cuomo says the property-tax cap is working. Let’s keep the cap, and put on lid on Mike Amodeo.”
