Wagner Declines to Concede in SD-40

Despite his Republican opponent claiming victory, Croton-on-Hudson Democrat Justin Wagner’s campaign has declined to concede as Westchester County continues to count votes.

Wagner, an attorney facing a 3,949-vote deficit, is challenging incumbent Sen. Greg Ball, R-Patterson, Putnam County. His campaign was holding out hope that the 30 remaining election districts would break his way, saying they are in largely Democratic areas of Westchester.

Ball claimed victory late Tuesday, citing his lead.

Here’s what Steve Napier, Wagner’s campaign manager, had to say in a statement early Wednesday:

“The race is too close to call. While all of the traditionally high-performing Republican areas have been fully counted, results in much of the traditionally Democratic areas of Westchester County have yet to be reported. We will pursue a full and fair count of all ballots, and we are confident that in the end Justin Wagner will be seated in the New York State Senate.”

  1. The race is over Greg Ball won. 90% of the vote in Greg Ball won. Napier and Wagner are crazy and need to go to a psych ward.

  2. Cooperation Favored on

Greg Ball better understand what happened in the USA on Nov 6. He better start being honest and not double talk his constituents and tell them he is doing what they speak of and then votes the opposite.

In the US we have OUR President Obama for a welcome 2nd term as proof that the US taxpaying, hard working, citizens do understand between 2 choices so different as we had on Nov 6.

The results of Nov 6 are proof that the US citizens DO NOT WANT layers of billionaires, mostly hidden, and some of them not even US citizens from foreign power bases, buying our elections with horrible and blatantly false TV and radio ads.

President Obama and the Democrats raised about $100 million from grassroots donations that averaged about $35 from people who struggle to feed their families, pay their bills and get to work each day all across the US. They are not hidden billionaires or casino owners who should heed the message on Nov 6 2012.

We, the US citizens demand government by representatives who are honest, have good backgrounds with a history of actually working for good results FOR THE CITIZENS, and who will work with other political parties once elected to ACTUALLY DO THE WORK of the CITIZENS.

We DO NOT want representatives who speak of COOPERATION but then secretly meet in the basement and vow to do everything to unseat the other party’s person.

This is the overriding message that all parties need to understand !!

  3. Ball is validated on

Who cares if Wacky Wagner concedes or not? It’s over and Ball won. All you diehard dems and sour grapes republican-Liebell holdovers better get over it. You know Leibell is sitting in his cell right this second during lights-out head count, punching his cell door, angry his anti-Ball prayers werent answered. And a lot of good the republican loser endorsements from southeast & Brewster did. They’re still smarting over what Ball did to Stephens and Degnan.

  4. It’s too bad Justin Wagner was unable to defeat chronic liar Greg Ball, the owner of so many restraining orders filed by the many women he has harassed. To add insult to injury, Justin also had to fight against the ultra-lefty anarchists from the local Green Party, who’s massive egos took precedence over the possibility of better governing and ridding us of Ball once and for all.

  5. Ssmart New Yrkrs on

We see low name calling by Right Wing Republicans still around…..Sad because the state and US need both sides to work together.
