Here’s our database of teacher salaries for the school year that ended June 30.
Data from the statewide Teachers’ Retirement System, which includes mainly teachers and administrators, both full- and part-time workers, showed a 1.5 percent increase in salary from 2010-11 to 2011-12, the review by Gannett’s Albany Bureau found. The school year runs from July 1 through June 30.
It also included 5,500 positions that were cut.
Average salary for an educator in New York last year was $55,652, up from $54,804 in 2010-11. Excluding part-time workers, or those who make less than $25,000 a year, the average educator salary was $77,498 in 2011-12, up from $75,681 the year before.
Here’s our database of all the salaries. The highest paid was William H. Johnson, a superintendent on Long Island, who brought in $567,248.
