VIDEO: Mid-Hudson Co-Chairs on Economic Council Win


The Mid-Hudson — a seven-county region including Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Dutchess — was one of the big winners at today’s Regional Economic Development Council Awards, taking home $92.8 million of the $738 million in grants and tax breaks awarded.

Marist College President Dennis Murray and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals CEO Leonard Schleifer, who co-chair the region’s council, both expressed satisfaction with the total and with the region’s strategic economic plan. Last year, the council received $67 million and did not win a “best plan” award, which comes with an extra $25 million.
