Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk is the apparent winner of the undecided race for the 46th Senate district.

[1]Tkaczyk won by 19 votes over Republican George Amedore after 90 votes were counted today in Ulster County.

Amedore went into the counting this morning with a 35-vote lead, but Tkaczyk was expected to pick up seats in Ulster—where she did well on Election Night.

She won the counting in Ulster by a total of 69-15, according to Gary Ginsberg, her spokesman.

There’s one ballot to be counted this afternoon in Albany County.

The state Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday it would not hear the case, meaning that 99 ballots ruled valid by an appeals court were counted.

It’s the only undecided race in the state, and it’s a critical one for control of the Senate.

With it, Republicans would have had 32 votes—enough for a majority. Now Republican control 31 seats and have a bi-partisan coalition with a group of Democrats.
