Moreland Commission Headed to Hudson Valley

The Moreland Commission will hold a public hearing to discuss the response and restructuring of utilities in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties following Superstorm Sandy, Gannett’s Haley Viccaro reports.
The hearing will be located at the SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center on Jan 24. SUNY Purchase is located on 735 Anderson Hill Road and the event is scheduled for 6 p.m.
People who attend will have the opportunity to address the issues of emergency preparedness and possible restructuring options of energy utilities, such as LIPA, to improve reliability.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo established the Moreland Commission to investigate the management of the state’s utility companies. The commission released an interim report [1]Jan. 7 that reveals its findings.
