Astorino’s chief of staff rails against HUD on fair housing settlement


George Oros, chief of staff to Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, forcefully laid out the administration’s position on the 2009 fair housing settlement with the Department of Housing and Urban Development at a meeting of the Board of Legislators Government Operations Committee meeting March 27. Oros was responding to a letter from HUD giving the county an April 25 deadline for the county to submit a zoning analysis acceptable to HUD or lose $7.4 million in community development money.
