If you want to be an extra in the upcoming blockbuster “Spiderman 2,” you’ll have a chance in Rochester when the movie shoots there later this month.
“This is such a fun and exciting time for Rochester and we are looking forward to welcoming more than 300 crew members to our city,” Richards said in a statement.
“At the same time, this is a very large event and our number one priority is making sure that the public is informed of all the necessary road closures and that movie fans are not in any areas that may cause safety concerns.”
Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. is looking for extras — men and women, ages 18 to 80.
To apply, send a photo of yourself, your contact information and a description of your vehicle to firstname.lastname@example.org
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced last month that the movie will be the largest production ever filmed in the state, leading to 3,500 jobs and the casting of 11,000 extras.
Most of the production is being done on Long Island and in Brooklyn. There will several hundred extras for the Rochester filming.
New York has been able to lure big-ticket movies because it has rapidly expanded tax breaks for films. In this year’s budget, the state is extending a $425 million tax break for five years.
