Yonkers mayor seeks applicants for Hispanic advisory board

YONKERS  —  Mayor Mike Spano is establishing a Yonkers Hispanic Advisory Board torecommend policies to advance Hispanic community development.

The board will consist of up to nine members who must be city residents and will serve two-year terms. Submit resumes at www.yonkersny.gov.

The mayor said about 35 percent of the city’s population is of Hispanic origin.

“It is essential that members of our Hispanic community have a platform to discuss issues of relevance and importance to that community,” Spano said.

Democratic City Council Majority Leader Wilson Terrero commended the mayor and said he’s confident the new board will make a valuable contribution.
