Westchester Legislator Judy Myers to announce reelection intentions Thursday

The rumors are building that Westchester Legislator Judy Myers, D-Mamaroneck, will not run for reelection this year. But Wednesday at a meeting of the Board of Legislators she wouldn’t confirm her decision.judymyers2

Instead, she said there will be an announcement Thursday at 11 a.m. on the steps of the Mamaroneck Town Center.

Several legislators have announced their intention to run for reelection or have held fundraisers without making a formal public announcement. Legislator Michael Smith, R-Greenburgh, is the most recent but the list includes Legislators John Testa, R-Peekskill, Michael Kaplowitz, D-Somers, Virginia Perez, D-Yonkers and Jim Maisano, R-New Rochelle. Legislator Bill Ryan, D-White Plains, announced he wasn’t running again in District 5 in White Plains, Scarsdale and Harrison when he made a bid for county executive. He lost a three-way race at the Democratic County Convention last week.
