New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson wins endorsement from Mount Vernon Dems

On Thursday, New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson will cross the Hutch to visit Mount Vernon and pick up a key endorsement in his bid to unseat County Executive Rob Astorino.

Bramson will meet with members of the Mount Vernon Democratic Committee on the steps of City Hall at noon Thursday to accept the group’s endorsement. The committee’s members include just about elected official in or from the city. Mayor Ernest Davis, State Sen. Ruth Hassell-Thompson, Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, City Comptroller Maureen Walker and members of the City Council are all expected to be there.

In a serendipitous quirk of scheduling, Astorino, a Republican, will pull into town shortly after Bramson’s appearance. He will climb the same steps in front of City Hall and, with Mayor Davis at his side, announce a joint county-and-city initiative to add police patrols to Mount Vernon’s streets during this summer’s nights. That event is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.

  1. Yup, Mt Vernon. You picked the perfect guy if you want more taxes. Good work.

  2. John Williams on

Mt Vernon has been ignored, dismissed, and insulted in the 4 years of Astorino’s administration as “those people” and why would they back someone who has no like for them?
Astorino is now criss crossing the county trying to set up those bogus “town hall” meetings where he can spew his lies about HUD in a desperate attempt to stay in selfish power.
Cant trust Republicans and smart people such as those in Mt Vernon know it

  3. John Williams on

As if the County cop patrols in Mt Vernon streets will not add to the cost of the Westchester taxpayers. Seems that Astorino is now pouring whatever county tax funding it takes to stay in power. Curious people such as Steven do not get that simple logic.

  4. Is this really news? “Mt. Vernon Dems support Bramson”.
Astorino equals no tax raises while in office and Bramson is a tax a spend Mayor – the choice is easy.
