Bramson endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund in Westchester county executive race

Noam Bramson, the Democratic candidate for Westchester County executive and mayor of New Rochelle, will endorsed Thursday morning by the Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Action Fund in an event on the steps of New Rochelle City Hall.

Bramson said the endorsement is especially meaningful because: “Planned Parenthood has made a critical difference in the lives of millions of women, children, and families by sharing public health information and providing quality medical care, from cancer screenings to prenatal exams. While abortion constitutes only a tiny fraction of its medical services, Planned Parenthood has been steadfast in defending the right to choose — insisting that women and doctors should make reproductive health decisions, not the government.”

Bramson is running against incumbent Republican County Executive Rob Astorino, who opposes abortion and vetoed a bill meant to protect access to women’s health clinics.

“We are confident that, as County Executive, Noam Bramson will be an advocate for women’s health and for policies that ensure access to health care and to sexual health information for the women, men, and teens in Westchester County,” said Reina Schiffrin, president/CEO of the PPHP Action Fund, in an earlier announcement of the endorsement.

The Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic Action Fund is the political arm of the clinic network.

said Reina Schiffrin, President/CEO of the PPHP Action Fund. “We are confident that, as County Executive, Noam Bramson will be an advocate for women’s health and for policies that ensure access to health care and to sexual health information for the women, men, and teens in Westchester County.”

As it should since Astorino is woefully not representative of the progressive attitudes and beliefs in Westchester ……….and not just for this issue.
