Yonkers blogger Delfim Heusler says he has more than enough signatures—seven of them—to get on the Working Families Party ballot line in his latest bid to unseat Westchester County Legislator Gordon Burrows in District 15 in Yonkers and Bronxville.
Heusler, the founder of the Yonkers Insider News Blog, is holding a press conference at 11 a.m. Monday at 35 Chase Ave. to announce that he has obtained seven signatures—three more than he needed.
To get on a party’s ballot line, state law says, a candidate must collect signatures equal to a minimum of 5 percent of the number of active voters registered in that party in the district where he or she is running.
According to the Westchester County Board of Elections website, District 15 has 75 active registered Working Families Party voters.
Heusler has run for office several times, most recently in 2011 against Burrows, a Republican. Heusler was in the news last year for leaking documents related to an investigation of public benefits provided to a nanny employed by District Attorney Janet DiFiore. He is a registered Working Families Party member.
