The Powerball jackpot has grown to $300 million for Saturday’s drawing after nobody claimed Wednesday’s prize. The top prize jumped $65 million in the days since because of strong sales across several states, according to the New York Lottery.
The lump-sum cash prize is closer to $173 million, before taxes.
The jackpot is far from the highest ever in the multi-state lottery game, which New York joined in 2010. In May, a Florida ticket laid claim to a $590 million top prize.
