Westchester primary: Board of Elections updates results

The Westchester County Board of Elections has finished updating Tuesday’s primary results with the 100 percent machine count. Absentee and affidavit ballots and write in votes haven’t been counted yet. The recanvass will be next week.

None of the early returns from Tuesday night were overturned by the machine count, available at www.westchestergov.com/boe99. But some of the wins narrowed, namely that of Catherine Parker over Thomas Murphy in the Democratic primary for Westchester Board of Legislators in District 7 on the sound shore. Parker is now up by 22 votes, 1 percent of the total. Turnout was just over 14 percent.

In District 17 in southwest Yonkers, incumbent Legislator Virginia Perez solidified her lead, with 45 percent of the vote, against Jose Roman and Nerissa Pena. Turnout there was 13 percent.

  1. First of all, I can’t believe that the Demorcratic Party didn’;t throw her out of the party after how she turned againgst them last year. Then the really dumb thing to do was to have 2 people run against her which pretty much handed her the win. I can’t beleive they didn’t think that would happen. Then the low voter turnout was really amazing. What happened to all those people that said she was done? Who was the genius strategist behind this?
