Westchester BOL campaign: Testa endorsed by Building Trades Council

Westchester Legislator John Testa, a Republican running for reelection in District 1 in Peekskill, Buchanan and Cortlandt, has been endorsed by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Westchester and Putnam Counties.

The organization, part of the AFL-CIO, has 36 affiliated organizations and represents more than 35,000 construction workers.

“As a County Legislator and previously as mayor of Peekskill John has always supported the working men and women of our organization and we are looking forward to continue working with him as County Legislator,” said Edward Doyle, president of the Building Trades Council, in a statement.

Testa said he was grateful for the endorsement.

“These groups represent the hard-working middle class worker whose values and skills built this nation and who are constantly under attack by high taxes and a struggling economy,” he said. “For the past four years as County Legislator I have worked to bring opportunity and jobs to Westchester and support policies that create an atmosphere for growth and investment in our county.”

  1. Unfortunately Testa has also betrayed all union members in another manner. He voted to lay off working men and women who work for his first responsibility: Westchester County government. Deals between Doyle and the Republicans is nothing new.
Testa has done nothing to urge that hack Astorino to go forth with capital projects that have been APPROVED by the Westchester Board of Legislators in Westchester for over 2 years UNTIL now (election year). Sure it is easy for Testa to say something that is not true.
