Bill Clinton raising funds for Fried’s Rockland County executive bid in Nyack today

It’s probably a good idea to steer clear of the Nyack Seaport area later today since the arrival of former President Bill Clinton at a fundraiser for Rockland County executive candidate David Fried is highly likely to bring a good amount of traffic.

Fried, a former Spring Valley village justice, is running on the Democratic, Working Families and Independence lines in the race, which pits him against Rockland County Legislator Ed Day of New City, who is running on the Republican and Preserve Rockland lines.

Thomas Sullivan of Nanuet is a spoiler candidate whose name is on the Conservative line.

You’ll need to be a Democratic Committee member or a “card-carrying union” member to pay $250 per ticket to get in. Otherwise, a ticket goes for a minimum of $500 per person.

The fundraiser goes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Clinton will then head over the Hudson River to a fundraiser for Noam Bramson, who is hoping to unseat Rob Astorino in the Westchester County executive’s race.
